"Science: The Engine of a New Society"

The theme “Harnessing the Unknown: Powering the Future through Science and Innovation” for the 2025 National Science Month was totally exciting. Science month is were we can make new discoveries and cool inventions. It makes me think about how science and society are going to be more even intertwined in the coming years.

In the next few decades, science will  be everywhere, not just in the laboratories.  We’re talking about advance technologies such as smarter homes, personalized medicine, and robots helping us out with all the time. Science will help us making our lives easier and more efficient. But it’s not just about gadget, we’re talking out advance technologies that can help with our everyday lives. Science will also be crucial for big problems like climate change, diseases, etc. This will give us new insights into how our brains work. With our currently situation, advanced technologies really helps us a lot.

Science will revolutionize how we understand ourselves. Breakthroughs in genetics  and psychology will unlock new insights into our brains, behaviors, and even our happiness. This deeper understanding could pave the way for personalized education tailored to individual learning styles, more effective mental health treatments, and communities designed to promote well-being for all. However, these advancements also raise important questions about privacy, our sense of identity, and the very definition of what it means to be human.

In the decades ahead, the connection between science and society will be shaped by our collective efforts. By embracing a spirit of inquiry, fostering partnerships, and placing ethical considerations at the forefront, we can unlock the potential of the unknown and build a future that is not only innovative but also just and equitable. The 2025 National Science Month provides a vital platform to initiate these discussions and inspire the next wave of scientists and innovators to take on this responsibility.

"Climate Action and Filipino Resilience"

The Philippines, a beautiful country made up of many islands, is facing growing threats from changes in the environment. These changes are making it harder for people to live and earn a living. The problems come from a mix of global climate change, the country's natural risk for disasters, and harmful things people do locally. ‎  ‎

Climate change around the world is a big problem, and it's hitting the Philippines very hard. It's one of the countries most likely to suffer from climate change. We're seeing more strong storms (like Yolanda and Pablo) that bring big floods, landslides, and ocean surges. These storms quickly destroy homes, roads, and farms, forcing people to leave their homes and setting the country back. Also, the sea level is rising, which is dangerous for towns near the coast. Salt water is getting into the fresh water and washing away the land. The rain is also changing, causing long dry spells in some places and too much rain in others, which hurts farming and makes it hard to get enough food.

Moreover, the Philippines still has problems like more frequent and stronger storms and rising ocean levels. To deal with these, we need to use many different ways to both stop and adjust to climate change.

Filipinos are showing they can bounce back from climate change by working together in their communities and with the government. If we keep trying and get hel from other countries, we can create a future for the Philippines that is strong and can handle the changes in the climate. In short, every Filipinos showed their resiliency in terms with this scenario. They proved that being resilient is the most important thing to do.

"Victory Lap: The Intramural Experience"

Intramural refers to sports and recreational activities played by teams or as individual within the same school. Intramurals also is when a student provided with various purposeful opportunities to engage in fun and meaningful  recreational activities or physical activities within their school or outside the school. The theme of this events revolves around unity and excellence as well as their health. Unity meaning  the state of being united or joined as a whole. Excellence  meaning the quality of being extremely good. And most especially their health, it should be balance so that they can perform well without worrying their health.

Intramurals play a vital role in prompting a well rounded lifestyle. Intramurals also offer an accessible and enjoyable way for the students or to the athletes to stay active, improve their skills, and connect with peers, all while balancing their physical and mental well-being as well as their health. There are also importance of the students or athlete who joined the intramurals. They just didn't present our school but they also proved that they can do those things with all their strength and efforts,  just to make the intramurals successful.  All their hardworking, joining to their training, sacrificing their studies just to join and participate to their training just to improve their skills within their chosen sports. They balanced their studies as well as their sports.

September 4,5 and 6 - when the intramurals happened. I had so much fun witnessing every moves with different sports, it was inspiring. But the sports that I witnessed is the "esports". E- sports is a form of competition using video games, such as mobile legends bang bang and call of duty. It was a nice experience watching a team united as one just to make the competition successful, watching also their strength to face the enemy with a full strength. And also the MAPEH club had also a different booth, such as photo booth, marriage booth, and karaoke booth. We also helped the MAPEH club to set-up their booth and it was a nice experience.

In conclusion, my overall experience was nice and I had so much fun witnessing the courage of all the athletes with their full strength. and their determination to present our school with different sports. Every athlete prove that all the hard work and all  the sacrifices will be worth it. They all faced the competitions with all their strength.
